UFC news and notes following the UFC 74: Respect event
-- FOXSports.com reports that Randy Couture's next title defense will likely be against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. If Fedor Emelianenko signs, however, he will likely get a title shot before the Brazilian.
-- F4WOnline.com reports that Brock Lesnar is very close to signing a deal with the UFC. He was in Las Vegas for this weekend's UFC 74 event.
-- Renato "Babalu" Sobral was fined $25,000 (from a $50,000 purse) for keeping his submission hold on opponent David Heath against the instruction of referee Steve Mazzagati, who had ended the fight due to Heath's submission. He broke the hold several seconds after the official stoppage.
