Leona Lewis, winner of UK's "The X Factor," made a strong debut on the US Billboard 200

Leona Lewis became the first British solo artist to debut atop the Billboard 200; the US version of her debut album "Spirit" started off with sales of 205,000.

Undoubtedly fueled by smash hit "Bleeding Love," Lewis' "Spirit" held a considerable lead over the week's number two album—George Strait's "Troubadour," which fell 65% to 59,000 sales.

Country singer James Otto landed at number three with "Sunset Man" on sales of 58,000. Ray J scored the next highest debut at number seven with 39,000 sales for "All I Feel." POD's "When Angels and Serpents Dance" started at nine with 34,000.

Mariah Carey will surge atop Lewis next week with new set "E=MC^2." With opening day sales of 154,000, the album is on track to top 500,000 sales in its first week.
