The scene-stealer from "Harold and Kumar" receives lead role

Rob Corddry's rise up the film ladder, which has included acclaimed supporting parts in "The Heartbreak Kid," "What Happens in Vegas" and "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," has finally scored him a leading role, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Corddry has been tapped to star in the Ben Stiller-Stuart Cornfield-produced "Project A." The film features Corddry as "A," a man trained by the US Government to be the world's biggest jerk. Etan Cohen, who worked on Stiller's "Tropic Thunder," penned the script.

No director is yet attached.

The actor had read the script several years ago and had been interested in the project since.

Corddry is not done releasing movies in 2008; among his scheduled appearances is a gig as Ari Fleischer in Oliver Stone's "W."
