The singer-actress celebrates tradition
Ashlee Simpson celebrated a marriage tradition that sometimes eludes Hollywood couples by accepting the last name of her new husband.
After marrying Fall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz, the singer-actress will now legally be Ashlee Wentz.
"I think that that's something that a woman should do when they're marrying a man," she said in an interview with People. "It's a tradition that I think is a great tradition."
Though Ashlee Wentz will be her legal name for private matters, she is still not ditching her old surname professionally—she will be Ashlee Simpson-Wentz in the public eye.
