"Grindhouse" Director Shopping Prison Series

Looking to put together show with fiancee Rose McGowan

Robert Rodriguez, who directed the "Planet Terror" portion of "Grindhouse," is shopping a new prison television series, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the story, Rodriguez has sent a preliminary script, written by Josh Miller and Mark Fortin, to a short list of networks that includes NBC and FX.

The series, set at a violent women's prison, would feature his fiancee Rose McGowan as lead. Rodriguez and McGowan got together after filming "Grindhouse."

AintitCool.com broke the story about the show, which will reportedly have seventies elements, including mud wrestling.
