UFC Officially Confirms Lesnar's Next Opponent

The rumored heavyweight clash will indeed happen

UFC.com confirmed week-long rumors by announcing that Brock Lesnar will face Heath Herring at UFC 87: Seek and Destroy.

Lesnar was originally supposed to face Mark Coleman, who pulled out last week due to a knee injury.

Herring, who is coming off a big victory over Cheick Kongo, is believed by most to be a tougher opponent for Lesnar due to his striking ability. Coleman, though more of a veteran in the sport, is best known for his wrestling—the skill for which most believe Lesnar is a dominant force in the heavyweight division.

Originally promoted as the main-event, Lesnar's fight will now likely fall in the middle of the main card. A welterweight title bout between Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch and a lightweight clash between Kenny Florian and Roger Huerta are being promoted as the marquee matchups.
