What other endings were filmed for Thursday's "Lost" season finale
Friday's "Good Morning America" featured the revelation of two "alternate endings" that were filmed for Thursday's "Lost" season four finale.
The endings, which featured only a minor physical switch, would have resulted in vastly different consequences for the future of the show.
The first ending featured Sawyer - not John Locke - as the "Jeremy Bentham" who was lying in the casket. The second had Desmond playing the dead role.
Based on the fact that neither Sawyer nor Desmond would totally fit the description of Jeremy Bentham that Ben and Jack gave in the climactic scene, it is likely that the endings were filmed purely as decoys (to limit spoiler dissemination) rather than as legitimate contenders to end the fourth season and set the show up for its final two seasons.
