John Cena gets another film gig
PWInsider.com reports that WWE Films is planning a sequel to John Cena-starrer "The Marine."
Despite a mild showing at the box office—it grossed less than $20 million domestically—it performed well on DVD and become WWE's most successful film to date.
A script for the sequel, which will likely be a direct-to-DVD release, as per WWE's new film strategy, has already been produced. WWE is currently at the beginning of the casting phase, so a shooting date has not yet been finalized.
Cena next stars opposite Ashley Scott in "12 Rounds," which hits theatres in the first quarter of 2009.
