UFC President says announcement does not involve boxer

WrestlingObserver.com reports that UFC President Dana White has offered nothing to support rumors of the company signing boxer Floyd Mayweather to a multi-million dollar deal.

White has reportedly denied the rumors to those in the industry, which appears to be the nail in the coffin for such speculation. Much about the rumors—including the reported $200 million payout—raised skepticism, although the fact that the rumor came out before talk of Mayweather's boxing retirement did give it some credibility.

The details of UFC's upcoming announcement remain unclear. There has been talk of Chuck Liddell headlining an upcoming event in Atlanta and Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva moving up for a Light Heavyweight bout, and while both are believed to be true, neither seems consistent with the magnitude of hype for the announcement.
