Backstage News on Why WWE Released Standout Diva

WWE has yet to make a declarative official statement on the release of developmental Diva Sofia Cortez, but according to F4WOnline.com, indications are that an alleged attitude problem played a part in the decision.

Cortez, real name Ivelisse Velez, had been amassing rave reviews for her in-ring work as part of WWE’s FCW and NXT programs, and according to the F4WOnline.com sources, she knew she was talented. The Diva, who was one of only three alumni from the most recent “Tough Enough” season still under contract, had apparently been criticized for believing she was better than her trainers thought she was.

The story notes that Cortez had particularly expressed a feeling that she was ready for the main roster, which while valid based on the reviews critics had given to her work, is not the best way to garner a reputation of humility in WWE’s developmental system.
